To take a screenshot on a Mac, you can use the keyboard shortcut "Command + Shift + 3" or the "Screenshot" button in the menu bar.

1- Using the keyboard shortcut, you can take a screenshot of the active window or a selected area of the screen.
2- To take a full-screen screenshot, press the "Command + Shift + 3" keys while the screen is unlocked.
3- To open the screenshot in the Preview app, press the "Control + Option + Command + 4" keys.
4- To open the screenshot in the Photos app, press the "Control + Option + Command + 5" keys.
Alternatively, you can also use the built-in screenshot tool in the MacOS Catalina and later versions. To access the screenshot tool, you can go to "Applications" > "Utilities" > "Screenshot"

Please note that on macOS Monterey and later versions, the keyboard shortcut for taking a screenshot is "Screenshot" instead of "Command + Shift + 3".
